The Ring of Freedom project is our ongoing initiative, dedicated to catalyzing positive social change through youth aggregation and sport, with a particular focus on promoting social inclusion. Carried out in Messina, the project takes place weekly at the Palaritiro and aims to actively engage young people from different backgrounds, including migrants, minorities and local youth, to build a more just and cohesive community.
We firmly believe that young people are key protagonists in building a more promising future for our society and our planet. With The Ring of Freedom, we intend to transform these beliefs into concrete actions, facilitating the active participation of young people in social change. The main goal of the project is to connect young people in the community, regardless of their background, to overcome the isolation and loneliness often felt by this age group.
The project has already started to produce tangible results within the local community, improving social inclusion and breaking down social barriers. Through basketball, a team sport that requires collaboration and cooperation, young people learn to overcome differences and build relationships based on mutual trust. This not only helps develop personal and team skills, but also promotes a sense of unity between different groups.
In addition to sports activities, we have planned a series of parallel events that raise awareness among young people on issues such as the environment, digital transformation and democracy. These meetings are designed to enrich the experience of participants, offering them opportunities for personal growth and critical reflection on important issues that affect our society.
“The Ring of Freedom” is not just a sports project; it is a commitment to building a lasting support network that will remain active even after the project ends, allowing young people to continue to interact and support each other in their personal and professional development. We believe that this project can have a profoundly positive impact on our community, promoting values of solidarity and inclusion that are more necessary today than ever.
The project is still ongoing and we invite anyone interested in participating to join us. Activities take place weekly at the Palaritiro in Messina, where sports and discussions intertwine to create a stimulating and inclusive environment. If you are interested in being part of this movement towards a more inclusive and supportive future, we encourage you to contact us for more information on how to participate.
